ResearchKit: A Nom de Course
February 9 @ 6:30 pm
Starting at 6:30pm, we’ll have free food sponsored by Arbormoon Software, Inc. Please RSVP to help us estimate how much food we need. While you are enjoying the food, talk with other developers and network in the local Cocoa community.
Our main meeting will start at 7pm and will feature a talk by Tom Crawford.
What’s in a name? Choosing names is hard. Variables, functions, apps, and (apparently) kits are hard to name. You would think that ResearchKit is just for, well, research. During this session we’ll take a look at what ResearchKit can (and cannot) do, from consent (and other legal) documents to research (and other surveys) to accessing sensors. It is both powerful and limited at the same time. Come learn how ResearchKit may be able a powerful option (sometimes, in certain situations, where your needs match Apple’s choices).
Tom Crawford has been involved with technology almost as long as he can remember, working on everything from punch cards to Swift. He currently spends his days as Senior Developer for Curo, and his nights running Moveable Bytes—an iOS (and a little Android) development shop with over 20 apps on the app stores—and teaching iOS development at Washtenaw Community College.
